Home Visits

Home visits are by arrangement with your individual GP. These may not always be possible, however the surgery uses the locum service after hours. To access the locum service, please call 8130 3333 or call our surgery after hours on 8384 4444.

Scripts, referrals and forms

Please make an appointment with your GP for these. They will not be provided by phone request or via family members. Medicare requires that the Doctor sees you in person to address the problem for which you are being referred. Referrals are ideally obtained from your usual GP as correspondence from the specialist is returned to the referring Doctor. Forms should be completed during your appointment and may not be left for the Doctor.

Cancellations

We would appreciate you telling us as soon as possible if you think you may be late or need to cancel your appointment as we will then be able to offer it to another patient. Sometimes your appointment may need to be rescheduled if you are late. A $60 cancellation fee applies if you do not cancel.

Drugs of Dependence

Christies Beach Medical Centre is committed to providing the most appropriate and medically sound advice and at all times. This means, that on occasion, if you are not known to a particular doctor, and have a request for certain medications, your request may be denied. This includes medications that fall into the category of drugs of dependence.

Please know that this practice policy is for the safety of our patients and to ensure that appropriate care is given. It is against the law for our doctors to prescribe some of these medications without appropriate authority to any patient.
